Crazy moments - 1

I decided to start documenting “crazy moments” that is the sovereignty of God reflected through coincidence…

Came across this link while I was preparing for last Friday’s program for M28 (our high school ministry’s relatively new name!). It’s a Cru research paper published last May on “trends” seen in evangelism on college campuses. It totally supports this book I’ve been reading called Reimagining Evangelism: Inviting Friends on a Spiritual Journey, which was a finalist for Outreach Resource of the Year (2006). And both of these align with the conversations I’ve been having with Pastor Ron on the on-going and continual shift into a new evangelism paradigm (conversations where I mostly listen, wide-eyed). And what is crazy is all this further matches very well with the things that God has been impressing on me since I’ve been back in NYC.

There were several instances in the past few months where I would come across an idea or I would hear testimonies from my mom or sisters at church and I can only describe it as it was “impressed” on me. I would keep thinking about it for days and longer but would come to no conclusion as to why it strikes me so (testimonies normally strike me but not in a way that is a lingering thought with no yet real conclusion). And so after I decided to change what I had planned for at least 2 weeks to the concepts as described in the book, I was staring at my powerpoint, thinking “Hm. These are valid, simple points but they’re really only concepts on paper at this point…” and then I realized that everything that was “impressed” upon me were examples in support of those very concepts. That was a crazy moment. And if no kids got anything out of last Friday (though I do trust, through the Spirit, they would get whatever they need to get), I was very much assured that God is trying to challenge me and teach me and show me and change the way I think about things.

Will share more later…and God is so good to me!!
